Lawyer's Letter
All parties interested in purchasing Barry Town must send the Chairman a letter from a lawyer confirming their identity, confirming that they have the £125k funds available now (or when) and confirming suitable security is offered for the remaining instalments (eg a charge on a house).
The deadline for the existing offer is Friday 1st July. The initial payment will increase to £130k after this date to reflect the paying off of bills and new investment. However, if a party lodges a bond of £1k, the existing offer will be held for another month (the £1k either going towards the initial payment or refund if another party completes the purchase).
A party paying a £3k bond on or before 1st July will have the exclusive right for one month in which to agree a purchase with the vendor.
The bonds go to prove the seriousness of parties interest and avoids frivolous enquiries.
Barry Town for Sale Offer
Barry Town AFC Ltd is being offered for sale at a reduced price in order for the first team to continue playing in the Welsh League. The Club is being offered at £125k down payment with further instalments of £2k per month for 3 years.
If no buyer is found the Club will continue to operate children and youth teams, as well as adult teams – but at a lower league level. The costs of the team and playing at Jenner Park have been paid for by the current Chairman since he also saved the Club 7 years ago – but he can no longer subsidise the first team.
The Club’s last certified accounts for 2009 recorded a basic profit of £15k but before football costs of £6k (one off of £10k) and wages expenses, the profit was about £60k. The Club might therefore appeal to a couple of guys or a family who would like to own and run their own bar and football club with scope for greater income from starting food sales in the 400 capacity huge clubhouse that overlooks the stadium on the first floor.
Alternatively, one or more businesspeople may be interested in running the Club as a self-funding enterprise to enjoy the football side of the business.
All serious enquiries with financial backing can contact the Chairman on 07751 441561 to discuss the offer further.
